Winter time fun begins in Stevenson, Washington. The Gifford Pinchot
National Forest is home to some of the finest sno-parks and
cross-country skiing in the Pacific Northwest. Just grab a
Northwest Forest Pass at the Visitors Center, and strap on
your snowshoes. Tubing is a great way to spend the day with
the family. And Stevenson has been a well-known snowmobilers'
destination for years.
Winter also offers the chance to spot some of the area's
most unique wildlife. Stop at the Franz Lake viewing platform
and watch the hundreds of white tundra swans that spend the
winter there. Be sure to keep and eye out for Sasquatch, he
loves the snow too.
